In the fall of 2009, Stacy Lyon overheard a nurse practitioner in a Seattle OBGYN clinic voiced her concerns with seeing reoccurring vaginal infections in patients visiting her office. Soon after, another close gal pal confided that she had bouts of "not feeling fresh... down there."

After an exhaustive search, Stacy experienced a 'light bulb moment" and sensed a market need for a product line which did not yet exist, and healthy hoohoo was born!

With the intention to reduce the amount of chemicals women are exposed to on a daily basis, healthy hoo hoo is a feminine care line that contains no harsh chemicals, parabens, alcohol, sulfates, or dyes in any of the products.

"I am a firm believer in rolling up one's sleeves and just diving in - and learning 'on the fly" Stacy joked. Armed with this outlook, she devoured any information she could find on the feminine care industry and turned to her gynecologist for knowledge she needed to make formulation decisions, ranging from the pH values of a woman's genital area to the plastics used in cosmetic packaging.

Complete with a foamer, a wash, and wipes, each innovarion is mild and designed to naturally cleanse girlie parts without removing all the goodness Mother Nature put down there. The wipes are super mild with a touch of aloe to moisture the skin. They are also fragrance-free, gluten-free and vegan, and of course each pH balanced to maintain a woman's natural pH levels.

Lyon feels good about bringing healthy hoohoo products and subsequently the education of vulvovaginal wellness to woman of all ages across the U.S.

The healthy hoohoo founder says to remember that cleansers with fragrances aren't the way to go and to also avoid soap. "If you smell something 'off,' it might mean that you are off balance or you have an infection. Over cleansing simply provides another molecule for bacteria to grow on," she said. "Using soap, no matter how mild and natural, can disrupt your vagina's pH level and cause irritation and discomfort. The vagina is a self-cleaning part of the body that does a great job at keeping things regulated. See your doctor if a funky odor persists."
