It looks like Scarlett Johansson's involvement with the controversial Israeli company SodaStream has caused the "Her" actress to step down as ambassador for the humanitarian group Oxfam International due to a "fundamental difference of opinion."

A rep for the star issued a statement on her behalf on Wednesday, January 29th.

According to Us Weekly, a statement said, per the Associated Press read, "Scarlett Johansson has respectfully decided to end her ambassador role with Oxfam after eight years."

The announcement continued, "She and Oxfam have a fundamental difference of opinion in regards to the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement. She is very proud of her accomplishments and fundraising efforts during her tenure with Oxfam."

The "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" star has made headlines lately following the debut of her Super Bowl commercial for SodaStream, which owns a large factory in the West Bank.

Oxfam issued a statement following Johansson's on January 30th citing that group, along with other activist organizations are "opposed to all trade from Israeli settlements, which are illegal under international law."

The statement continued, "While Oxfam respects the independence of our ambassadors, Ms. Johansson's role promoting the company SodaStream is incompatible with her role as an Oxfam Global Ambassador."

Scarlett Johansson starred in an "uncensored" version of a sexy SodaStream commercial for the Super Bowl in which "The Avengers" actress dissed beverage competitors Coke and Pepsi.
