"Twilight" star Kellan Lutz has ditched his image as Emmett Cullen to become a hot and shirtless God. The actor had no problem giving former costar Taylor Launter a run for his money by flaunting his six-pack in the "Hercules: The Legend Begins" trailer.

According to Hollywood Life, the new film channels inspiration from similar time period movies such as "300," "Gladiator," "Troy" and more.

In the flick Luz's character believes that he is the bastard son to a queen who is unaware of his true identity and ability.

Initially Hercules is just another Greek warrior but he soon learns that he is in fact the son of Zeus, it is then that the character begins to explore what it means to be the son of a God.

Apparently the movie draws from the original story of Hercules which has the potential to be stretched out over several action-packed films. However, the flick will not be always full of fighting and a man's rage.

Kellan Lutz's Hercules will also face some romance turmoil in which he needs to decide whether to face his destiny or run away with the Princess of Crete who has an arranged marriage with his own brother.

SPOILER ALERT: The romance between the Princess of Crete and Hercules most likely doesn't work out seeing as he later on establishes a romance with Princess Hebe.

That is all we can tell you right now but you can find out for yourself when "Hercules: The Legend Begins" hits theaters on January 10th.
