According to E! News, the actress explained, "My hair couldn't get any uglier."

While at the Yahoo "Fireside Chat" on Thursday, November 7th the actress said, "I don't know, I cut it earlier, and it was just kind of like [shoulder-length] and it grew to that awkward, gross length."

She then admitted, "I just kept putting it back in a bun, and I said, 'Well I don't want to do this,' so I just cut it off."

However, despite her annoyance with what once was a gorgeous mane Jennifer Lawrence said that another factor that contributed to her turning to the pixie haircut was because her hair was "fried from being dyed too much."

The actress then joked that her dramatic cut was "just to annoy" her "Catching Fire" director Francis Lawrence.

But all jokes aside the starlet put fans at ease who were concerned about how her new hair would affect her famous alter ego Katniss Everdeen.

She said, "This isn't how Katniss is going to look in the next movies, don't worry," adding, "I'm wearing a wig."
