The "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting news about Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele has inspired reactions from fans. Melanie Griffith is very happy that her 23-year-old daughter has landed the sex-crazed role.

According to Hollywood Life, the veteran actress is her daughter's biggest supporter despite several criticisms from the trilogy's fans and celebrities.

Griffith took to Twitter to show just how proud she is off her child. 

Though Griffith was proud, the rest of the Twitterverse had mixed reactions, according to HL.  Some fans were very upset and confused that Johnson and Charlie Hunnam had been chosen to play the wildly popular characters.

"Just saw who will play Christian and Anastasia in Fifty Shades of Grey," @MarionheartLea tweeted. "Hmmn, never heard about them before." 

Another fan had kinder words about the shocking casting news.

"It seems everyone has a different opinion on #FifthShades movie casting but we need to trust @E_L_James decisions after all she did write," posted @LyndaCardie.

One thing is clear: Johnson has a lot to prove to fans. But, she already has a lot of help from her very famous family.

Johnson comes from an impressive family with a rich history in show business. Her mom, Griffith has showed off her acting chops in numerous memorable roles like "Lolita" and "Crazy in Alabama," and her grandmother is Hollywood legend Tippi Hedren.

Johnson's dad is "Miami Vice" star, Don Johnson and her stepfather is Antonio Banderas. 

But the young actress' star is also on the rise. The young talent has starred in movies including "21 Jump Street," "The Five-Year Engagement" and "Social Network" with Jesse Eisenberg.

Now that she's landed the dream role of Anastasia Steele, her career should skyrocket, said several reports.
