Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards 2013 appearance has many people in a rage. The "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball" singer, 20, is getting major backlash for her controversial twerking performance including from the Parents Television Council, who may be mad at Liam Hemsworth's girl.

According to People, the PTC condemned MTV for allowing Cyrus' racy performance, which she donned a scantily clad outfit and grinded her butt all over Robin Thicke to the shock of many audience members including Jaden and Willow Smith.

"MTV continually to sexually exploit young women by promoting acts that incorporate 'twerking' in a nude-colored bikini," the Council said in a statement. "How is this image of former child star Miley Cyrus appropriate for 14-year-olds?"

The PTC did not criticize Cyrus herself, but they did add that "heads should roll" at the network because of the singer's risque routine.

Interestingly enough, Cyrus' father, Billy Ray is a member of the Council's advisory board. The fact that it's Cyrus' daughter may have or may not have had any bearing on the group.

"This much is absolutely clear," the PTC said. "MTV marketed adults-only material to children while falsely manipulating the content rating to make parents think the content was safe for their children."

But Cyrus does have a supporter in her corner in fellow singer, Adam Lambert.

"Listen if it wasn't ur cup of tea - all good but why is everyone spazzing?" Lambert tweeted about Cyrus' act on Monday. "Hey - she's doin something right. We all talkin."

Lambert went on to say that he did not state whether he liked the performance or not, but that Cyrus was merely having fun and the world should cut her some slack.
