"Scandal" season 3 is still months away from returning to television but both cast and crew are spilling juicy spoilers about the hit ABC series.

Actress Katie Lowes (Quinn Perkins) along with Executive Producer Betsy Beers and Co-Executive Producer/Director Tom Verica gave some insight on the upcoming season.

When speaking about season 3 episode 1 Verica told TV Fanatic, "It literally takes off minutes after where we left off."

"It's a premiere that just goes like a shot."

Beers added, "There are a couple of revelations that are key." Last season left fans anxious for more as Olivia Pope was escorted into a car that belong to her father.

A mysterious character that was present in the season but his motives seemed to be more towards hurting Liv rather than helping her.

Verica teased that Rowan Pope (Joe Morton), "figures very prominently mainly because of what happens at the end of that [episode] and his interaction with Liv... I think he's going to be around for awhile."

As for Quinn becoming the new Huck, fans have a lot more in store for them, "I think it's really interesting territory," Verica said about her evolution into a darker character.

"We were introduced into this world through her eyes and she's now become one of the dysfunctional part of the family and she's now taking this and going further with this. We're going to explore her dark side."

Speaking about her transition, Lowes weighed in on her character, "I liked that Quinn got off on it because I think she's had a lot of bad things happen in her life and it was the first time she's controlling the situation and she's being good at something and not the newbie and not being made fun of.

"I'm interesting in doing more of that."

However, Lowes admitted she wasn't too thrilled about the blood splatter on her face, when asked if power outweighs the splattering of blood on Quinn's face, the actress laughed and said, "Power outweighs it! Power outweighs the blood splatter, yes."

When speaking about Quinn, Beers said, "I think Huck and Quinn are incredibly close."

She also said, "And that's one of the most amazingly cool relationships on the show and, from what I know, there's going to continue to be a dynamic there."

As far as Olivia Pope's future, fans should prepare for a flashback episode, Verica said, "People love flashbacks on the show and it's such a mechanism that really works."

He revealed, "Just by shear nature of meeting her father, we'll dive into her past."

So "Scandal" fans get ready to get knee deep in Washington drama when the ABC hit series returns on October 3rd.
