Following their break up Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have done their best to move on from their four year romance however, "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer recently reached out to the two stars to check on them.

According to Hollywood Life, the actors became close to the author while shooting the film adaptations of her "Twilight Saga" novels and word is Meyer was concerned about their well-being following the split.

"Stephenie Meyer has reached out to both Rob and K-Stew to make sure they're good after the breakup," a source told the celebrity gossip site.

"She's kind of like a big sister to them and they love her, so she's been a perfect person to talk with."

Apparently the author feels guilty and blames herself for Stewart and Pattinson's troubled past and thrusting the pair into the spotlight.

Back in March Stephenie Meyer spoke about the couple in an interview, she said, "Here's the thing: there are some actors who are looking to be world famous, to be that household name, and although they might discover that there are a lot of negative things involved in that, it's what they want.

"But that doesn't apply to Kristen and Rob. That's what makes it kind of ironic and tragic. If they had the choice, I've no idea if they'd even do Twilight again. I just don't know. I think this has all come at a heavy price."

While Meyer is busy letting the guilt sink in, Kristen Stewart's and Robert Pattinson's "Twilight" co-stars are having a hard time not feeling awkward around the two.

Entertainment Wise reported that the cast is planning a reunion but is worried about the two stars feeling uncomfortable around each other.

"There is a Twilight barbecue and get-together a few of the cast members are trying to plan on a weekend near Thanksgiving." an insider said.

The source continued, "When things aren't too crazy on everyone's schedule."

"But everyone feels awkward, because they of course want to invite Rob and Kristen, but no one knows if they will be okay to go to the same function together. It's really awkward."
