DJ Khaled went very public with his recent proposal to Nicki Minaj, displaying his love in an MTV News video on Thursday.

The Miami-based producer had very romantic words for the "High School" rapper, "Nicki Minaj, I'm at MTV."

"I want to be honest with you," he continued. "I like you, I love you, I want you, I want you to be mine. I'm here at MTV because it's a world wide network. The reason I'm not telling you face-to-face is because I understand you're busy. I'm going to be honest with you. I want to marry you."

Khaled may not have gotten down on one knee, but he did pop the question and show off a 10-karat sparkling diamond engagement ring.

He also said that he and Minaj have a lot in common,  "We have the same symptoms in suffering from success."

"You out there touring," he continued, "hustling, you out there making music and winning. I understand. That's why I feel like you need a man like me in your life, that's going to take care of you and respect you."

Minaj may need some time to think about this lovey-dovey proposal, which, in the clip, Khaled said he understands.

But Hollywood Life's Bonnie Fuller thinks Minaj should accept the sweet, romantic proposal, "Nicki, DJ Khaled's proposal in a video posted to you on MTV News was as public as any love-struck "Bachelorette" contestant's."

"And I think you should accept it," Fuller continued, adding that Khaled has been in love with the former "American Idol" judge since their "Take it to the Head" video in 2012. "...Nicki, Khaled is the kind of guy you really could depend on."
