"Glee" star Cory Monteith's death has not only sent fans into mourning but it has also put them on edge concerning the return of the hit FOX series.

Monteith played fan favorite Finn Hudson who was a football player who found his voice in Glee Club. Five seasons later the actor who plays the character was found dead over the weekend in his Vancouver hotel room.

Before Monteith's death, his character had figured out his plans for the opening episodes of the show's fifth season, according to the New York Daily News.  As a result, FOX may delay the series' season premiere until November.

Fans may have to wait an extra two months for the popular musical show's return, a source said.

The paper reported that on Monday FOX officials began talking about how to handle the death of Cory Monteith.

A network source revealed that one idea that was proposed was to delay production for about a month, "to let everyone breathe."

However, that option would force the show to miss its scheduled production start date next week.

The show was set to air on September 17th before FOX's postseason Major League Baseball coverage but now the show may not be seen until November.

Monteith was in a relationship with his "Glee" co-star who also played his on-screen love interest Rachel (Lea Michele). The two regularly sang lead in the show's songs.

The actor was never shy about his struggle with drug abuse and briefly left the show in March to attend rehab, Michele stood by the actor the whole time.

According the Daily News, Monteith was expected to play a major role in the first two episodes of the series in the fall.

Both episodes were written before cast and crew took the summer off and on June 28th, prior to his death, the cast was spotted at a studio in Los Angeles posing for season 5 promotional photos.
