Since their break up has been reported Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have kept quiet about their split but in a recent interview with Entertainment Wise their fellow CW colleague, Colton Haynes confirmed it for them.

The actor was in the UK promoting his new show "Arrow" when the interviewer shared her displeasure concerning the split between Dobrev and Somerhalder. When she said they were broken up Haynes responded by saying, "They are actually."

Haynes, who is friends with Dobrev told the Entertainment Wise correspondent that there is most likely no animosity between the former couple, he said, "But I'm sure they're really great friends."

The actor added that their split will not lead to an "awkward" atmosphere while on the set of their hit show "The Vampire Diaries."

He said: "I think you become really good friends with that person when you see them everyday anyway so I think they obviously knew that getting into a relationship.

"But I don't think it would be awkward for them. They are both well rounded people."

Even though the two actors have parted ways Haynes, who used to play on MTV's "Teen Wolf" believes that they still love each other.

The actor explained, "Every time you're in a relationship and when you get out of one, I always think you still have a little bit of love left, so they'll be fine."

When Entertainment Wise asked about Haynes' comments on the break up Ian Somerhalder's rep told the tabloid, "We don't comment on our clients personal lives."

Following the break up both Dobrev and Somerhalder have been keeping busy. The actor recently wrapped filming for "The Anomaly" and is jet setting across Europe with new projects on the brain.

Entertainment Wise reported that he did not mind making a comment when it came to his potential role playing Christian Grey in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film adaptation.

The actor teased and said, "It could be anyone - that's how that goes."

The actor proved that he does not mind being reputedly asked the same question about the long awaited film, he said, "One can never get bored of people asking about a huge project."

He continued to say, "every guy in Hollywood is up for this role."

Meanwhile his ex-girlfriend revealed via Twitter that she is not sticking around in the United States this summer, she tweeted, "Get ready the Dragon/Dobrev Duo are en route! About to wander... ASIA !!!"

It would be interesting to see this two cross paths before they return to "The Vampire Diaries" set, do you agree?
