On May 31st news hit the internet that Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum welcomed their first child into the world. However what remained a mystery was the baby's gender and name.

A source confirmed that Dewan-Tatum gave birth to a baby girl but now the couple is confirming not only did they welcome a little girl in to the world but the also named her Everly Tatum.

On the actor's official website the following statement was released, "Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum are thrilled to announce the birth of their daughter, Everly Tatum, who was born on May 31 in London."

According to the Washington Post  the name Everly was the 907th most popular girl name in the United States last year.

The actor who is featured on the July issue of Vanity Fair talked to the magazine about the route he plans to take if his child were to have a learning disability.

According to Vanity Fair, due to the actor's negative experience with study drugs, he will never medicate his child for learning disabilities.

Tatum told the magazine, "I truly believe some people need medication," he says. "I did not. I did better at school when I was on it, but it made me a zombie. You become obsessive. Dexedrine, Adderall. It's like any other drug.

"It's like coke, or crystal meth. The more you do, the less it works. For a time, it would work well. Then it worked less and my pain was more. I would go through wild bouts of depression, horrible comedowns.

"I understand why kids kill themselves. I absolutely do. You feel terrible. You feel soul-less. I'd never do it to my child."

Now that Tatum has his new baby girl Everly it sure looks like he will do all he can to protect his little princess from everything.
