Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum welcomed their first child into the world on Sunday in a London hospital.

The actress' father shared his joy with E! News about the new addition to the family, he said, "Becoming a grandad and grandmom while speaking for Jenna's mom, is a wonderful life experience.

"Emotional, [can't] stop smiling. Anxious to meet our grandchild and hug Jenna and Chan. They are an amazing couple and will be great parents. I'm very excited for everyone in each of our families."

Although the details concerning the baby have not been revealed by the couple a source confirmed to Us Weekly that Dewan-Tatum gave birth to a baby girl.

The couple opted not to know the gender of the baby, the actor told E! News in the past that they were going to wait for the birth to find out the baby's sex.

He said, "it's one of the only real surprises that you're going to get that's legit."

The couple announced they were expecting their first child back in December when the actress revealed her baby bump on the "VH1 Divas" red carpet.

The pair met in 2006 while on set filming the movie "Step Up" and later married in 2009.

Earlier this year the actor told People Magazine about how clueless he may be when it comes to being a parent, "I have never changed a diaper before, so I may need some help learning."

"I don't have friends who have kids, so it's going to be an interesting experience to learn how to change a diaper. I hope I don't have any problems where the diaper falls off and the baby poops on the ground,"

Although the actor has his doubts, a source close to the couple told Us Weekly that "Channing is going to be the most adorable hands-on daddy ever and do whatever is necessary to make sure Jenna can balance it all."
