The first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, has been named as the best dressed woman in a poll held by The Sunday Times.

The Style magazine, a supplement of the paper, lauded Obama for her great sense of style and her choice of clothes. She is said to have grabbed the title due to her “understanding that, as her primary role as first lady is visual, fashion can be a force for good used to inspire and entertain,” according to the Daily Mail.

Obama is often appreciated for her classic style, which she flaunts with perfect elan. She has worn designs by various industry giants and knows how to carry herself in these ensembles.

She also has a major influence in setting trends among fans and has also been appreciated for recycling her dresses.

While this is surely exciting, we wonder what British designer Vivienne Westwood has to say now. The designer had slammed Obama’s style during a recent interview with The New York Times, calling it “dreadful.”

“Don't talk about her. It's dreadful what she wears. I don't want to talk about it. Really, I can't. She's a very nice looking lady, but it's a nonstarter regarding clothes that suit her. That's what fashion is there for. It's there to help, not just to make you look more conservative," the 71-year-old designer told the daily.

Another political figure who made it to the list was British Home Secretary, Theresa May for her stylish and attractive outfits. Renowned for sporting kitten heels, May was also named as the woman with “the best legs in the cabinet.”

As opposed to the appreciation garnered by Obama, pop sensation Lady Gaga was named the worst dressed celeb for her garish and most of the times extremely bizarre outfits.
