News of the blizzard that is to hit New York and other North Eastern states has been circulating continuously on many news programs. This storm came at a completely inopportune time as New York Fashion Week is showcasing the new collections from various brands. Friday's weather started with steady rain with snow to come down later in the day.

The weather has not deterred Fashion Week but a few fashion shows have been affected by the weather according to the Examiner. The National Weather Service's blizzard warning has fashion designers worried about whether their models will arrive on time for their show, Eoline stated.

Producer for the Parkchoonmoo show Maureen Cahill stated to DNAinfo.com, "We are worried about transportation in general and delays throughout the day. We are trying to compensate with car services to get models in on time." The Parkchoonmo show is scheduled for Friday at 9 p.m.

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs announced that he was postponing his fashion show which was to occur on Monday, February 11 to Thursday, February 14. Jacobs told Women's Wear Daily that he was delaying his show because of late deliveries. Jacobs hasn't received any fabric, handbags or shoes for his fashion show. It has been estimated that deliveries won't be expected until early next week because of the epic snowstorm according to the Examiner.

Marc Jacobs International President Robert Duffy released a statement apologizing for the postponement. He stated "Marc and I are extremely sorry for this inconvenience. We just want to have the best show possible and show all the product that our design team has been working on so hard for the last six months. We completely understand if people have to get on a plane to go to London. We're not expecting people to change those plans or other plans just for us. We are live-streaming the show. Still, we recognize the significant inconvenience and are very sorry about the situation."

Fashion designers can only hope and pray that the storm doesn't hit as hard as it has been predicted to.
