Sarah Jessica Parker says that she cannot compete with her character Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City” as far as fashion sense goes, reports People magazine.

“It's not an identity that I connect to. I'm grateful if anyone says anything kind, and if they say something less kind, I take that as a part of anyone talking about you at all,” Parker told the magazine. “It's not how I think of myself and think it's probably the healthier approach.”

We have always loved Parker’s quirky style not just in SATC but even otherwise. She has never disappointed fans be it on the street or the red carpet. The actress has always managed to look super chic in elaborate gowns and haute couture dresses and hats but while Parker admits that like all women she loves fashion and that it will always be a part of her, it doesn’t form a part of her daily routine.

While some would say that she often chooses drab and unflattering outfits while running errands, we would say that she just prefers to prioritize comfort and ease. And besides whatever she wears she manages to pull it off with style.

Just a few days back, the mother of three was seen grabbing groceries dressed in leather jacket, distressed jeans and suede boots. Parker kept warm in a beanie and shielded her eyes with large sunglasses. And the actress looked as stylish as she looked unveiling Disney's Electric Holiday Collection and short film at Barneys, dressed in a classic black dress and sporting Minnie Mouse ears.

A style icon does not have to be dressed for the red carpet all the time and one should not be expected to be in Louboutin and Jimmy Choo even while running errands. A style icon  looks equally stylish and chic in a pair of jeans and t-shirt as on the red carpet. Hence, we think Parker is definitely one.
