Khalyla Kuhn, podcaster and ocean lover, has launched Ebb Ocean Club, a new line of reef-safe haircare products. Inspired by her love for the sea and her need for haircare that protects the ocean, Kuhn's products promise manageable beach hair without harming marine life.

The Birth of Ebb Ocean Club

Kuhn, known for her podcasts "TigerBelly" and "Trash Tuesday," found solace in the ocean after her breakup with Bobby Lee. Growing up as a swimmer in the Philippines, Kuhn always cherished the sea. However, frequent ocean dips left her hair tangled and unmanageable. Searching for reef-safe haircare products, she found none that met her needs.

Kuhn, already a fan of Circumference's face oil, reached out to its founders, Jina Kim and Chris Young. She proposed using their factory to create a small batch of hair products. Initially intended for personal use, the demand grew as Kuhn and her friends tested the samples. Recognizing the potential, Kuhn, Kim, and Young decided to co-found Ebb Ocean Club.

Reef-Safe Haircare

Ebb Ocean Club launched on May 15, offering four main products: shampoo, conditioner, detangling spray, and a reparative mask, priced between $21 and $26. These products feature a unique Marine BioRepair Comple with seaweed, algae, and sea moss extracts. This complex ensures hair health without harmful silicones, petrochemicals, or PEGs. 

Detangling Shampoo

This $23 shampoo cleanses and detangles without buildup. This unique Marine BioRepair Complex formulation shields and prevents damage from UV rays, pollution, and heat. Suitable for all hair types, including color-treated and sensitive hair, it balances natural oil production for a healthier scalp. It is free of silicones, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and dyes.

Priced at $23, this conditioner hydrates and reduces frizz. Its nourishing ingredients, such as sea moss, biotin, and ceramides, protect and prevent future damage. Formulated with the Marine BioRepair Complex, it ensures hair health without harmful additives. Suitable for all hair types, it deeply hydrates and locks in moisture.

Detangling Tonic Spray

At $21, this lightweight spray detangles, hydrates, and protects hair from the elements. It contains avocado, jojoba, and sea kelp to enhance shine and smooth frizz. Formulated with the Marine BioRepair Complex, it protects hair from UV, pollution, and heat. Suitable for all hair types, it is always free of silicones, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and dyes.

Deep Treatment Repair Mask

This $26 mask nourishes and repairs strands with a rich blend of macadamia, argan, and shea butter. It deeply hydrates and strengthens hair, leaving it shiny and smooth. Launch Event

To celebrate the launch, Ebb hosted a variety show in Los Angeles featuring Kuhn's podcast co-hosts and other comedians. Half of the audience were VIPs, while the other half purchased tickets. Ticket holders received a full-size product and a mini Detangling Tonic Spray, while VIPs took home the full collection.

With over 27,000 Instagram followers and Kuhn's extensive podcast reach, Ebb Ocean Club is set to make waves in the beauty industry, offering a new standard for reef-safe hair care.
