Fonderie 47 has announced its alliance with New York based jewelry designer James de Givenchy. Fonderie 47 is known to remove AK47s from war zones and transform them into rare jewelry and accessories.

Givenchy has designed the Phoenix Collection for Fonderie 47 which was inspired by the concept of an egg. It is a symbol of fundamental beauty, the potential of rebirth and budding possibilities. The collection is limited edition pieces and is designed from AK47 steel, and 18 karat rose gold and platinum, and diamonds in Givenchy's New York City studio.

The Phoenix Collection features four handcrafted jewelry pieces for women and an objet d'art, an egg crafted from AK47 steel and diamonds.

Fonderie 47 has a collection of jewelry and accessories like cuff links, rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants. The cuff links in white gold are very elegant and make it hard to believe that a beauty like it can be made from a weapon that can take lives away. Very simple in their designs, these accessories add effortless sophistication to an ensemble. The concept of the jewelry is very creative and Givenchy's sculpted and flawless designs are a jewel on the crown.

The sale of these jewelry funds further destruction of assault rifles. Till now Fonderie 47 has destroyed more than 20,000 assault rifles in Africa.

"The Collection realizes new possibilities against the destructive past of the AK47. Each piece carries the power to destroy the tools of conflict and to reinterpret and transform the meaning of our ideals, our actions and our adornments," says Peter Thum, cofounder and CEO of Fonderie 47.

The Phoenix Collection was unveiled at a private exhibition in New York City.

"I believe that I was destined to make this collection for Fonderie 47; The Phoenix Collection is at once whimsical, cheerful, and powerful. It embodies rebirth and thus is revolutionary in the proper sense of the word," James de Givenchy said. "I would like the wearer to feel how they are agents of the change that will be made," Givenchy added.

Designers put in a lot of thought and creativity to design trendy and classy jewelry these days.  A brand, Silver Spoon Jewelry has a range of vintage silver ware jewelry and accessories. The brand carries a variety of watches, necklaces, rings and much more accessories that resemble the silverware used in the 1800s and early 1900s.

Not just metals, jewelry these days are also made from guitar strings, picks and other parts of the instrument.

A company Cremation Solutions goes a step further and creates diamond jewelry from cremation ashes which the customer sends to the company for a custom made jewelry.
