Spraying on cologne is not the only way for men to smell good. Here are six ways that don't require any bottled fragrances.

Some men are not keen on wearing fragrances; in fact, some are even allergic. But that does not mean you can't smell good without cologne. There are ways to smell fresh and clean without having to spritz on scents.

There is more to men's smells than that which comes from a spritz of cologne. A man can smell naturally good, and this is influenced by environment and genes. If not, their smells can be influenced by habits and what they use every day.

Here are six tips to consider:

1. Daily Showers

When you are fresh and clean from the day's dirt, sweat, and bacteria, it follows that you smell good because the elements that cause unpleasant odors have been washed away. As a bonus, your body wash, shampoos, and conditioners will leave a faint scent on your newly washed skin and hair.

2. Deodorant

Maybe your deodorant was formulated with a fragrance, or maybe not. Either way, using deodorants will inhibit unpleasant odors as it absorbs sweat. Without sweat lingering on your skin and clothes, odor-causing bacteria won't cause you any trouble.

3. Fresh Breath

Whether it's brushing your teeth, flossing between meals, using mouthwash, or taking the occasional mint, maintaining your dental hygiene is crucial. Fresh breath is an important factor that affects the way you smell. Believe it or not, even if you don't open your mouth, other people can still smell bad breath because the odor can come through your nose.

4. Clean Clothes, No Repeats

Some people wear the same unwashed clothes several times before finally surrendering them to the laundry hamper. This is not a good practice because used clothes already have odor-causing bacteria and sweat on them. Wearing unwashed clothes will cause bacteria to lounge around on your skin -- and so will the odor.

5. Foot TLC

Don't ignore your feet. They sweat a lot, which means they harbor odor-causing bacteria as well. Use foot sprays, lotions, and powders on your feet after bathing. Use disinfectant sprays, shoe deodorizers, and dehumidifiers when storing your shoes after a long day. This will stop any odor in its tracks.

6. Antioxidant-Rich Diet

Making sure to include foods rich in antioxidants in your diet will eliminate the toxins from your body. Experts say that when your body is clean inside and out, you end up smelling good without using cologne. Drinking plenty of water will also help because it dilutes any pungent-smelling food that might permeate your body.
