SheaMoisture, a Unilever company, has launched a line of antiperspirants and deodorants that answer the unique needs of those with melanin-rich skin.

People with melanin-rich skin are often plagued by misconceptions, including that they don't need skincare. This was quickly discredited as studies found that people with deep complexions need skincare unique from those with fair skin.

SheaMoisture's studies found that common concerns of people with highly melanated skin include sweat, odor, and underarm discoloration. The company then rolled out antiperspirants and deodorants specially formulated for people with melanin-rich skin that target problem areas while replenishing moisture and soothing sensitive areas.
