Peach Fuzz is Pantone's 2024 color of the year, the leading source of color expertise announced.

Officially known as Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, the chosen color is a soft, pinkish-orange hue. It's described as an inclusive shade that enriches the mind, body, and soul, embodying an "all-embracing spirit."

"In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Color Institute.

Within the realm of beauty, Pantone characterized Peach Fuzz as a hue that invigorates the skin, imparting a gentle warmth to the eyes, lips, and cheeks, enhancing the overall appearance of vitality. When combined with earthy browns, it exudes a fresh and youthful aesthetic.

Pantone further defined Peach Fuzz as a gateway to an extensive array of lipstick, blush, skin tone, and contouring choices. Nail designs featuring this color convey a tender message, exuding "romantic," "innocent," and "sweet" vibes.

Eiseman described Peach Fuzz as a color that embodies compassion, providing a tactile embrace that seamlessly connects the youthful with the timeless. It resonates with an inherent sense of empathy while effortlessly bridging generations.

Unlike last year's Pantone color of the year, "Viva Magenta," which was associated with empowerment, bravery, and boldness, this year's pick is all about gentleness, coziness, and kindness.

As per Pantone, the selection of the velvety peach tone stemmed from its aim to convey the longing to be near cherished people and the happiness derived from embracing self-awareness, relishing solitary moments.

Its objective was to capture a hue reminiscent of the warmth felt in the company of friends, family, and loved ones amid life's tumultuous aspects, promoting feelings of "gentle warmth."

The tradition of announcing the Pantone color of the year dates back to 1999.

The Pantone Color Institute's primary goal was to stimulate discussions about color among the global design community and passionate color enthusiasts, according to the color authority.

Peach Fuzz is the 25th announced color of the year by Pantone.
