Haircare brand Ouai has launched a new hair gloss, a product perfect for combatting dull and frizzy winter hair during the holiday season.
The Ouai Hair Gloss claims to provide shine after just five minutes, with healthy hair benefits such as damage treatment and protection against color fading and heat up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (232 degrees Celsius), according to Ouai.
The product contains rice water, hyaluronic acid, and panthenol to not only provide shine but also help repair damaged hair and promote overall hair health. It also has sugar beets, which aid in making hair color stay longer. It claims to be paraben and sulfate-free.
In a consumer perception study of 103 participants conducted by the company, 85% said their hair looks shiny after using the Ouai Hair Gloss.
Meanwhile, 85% said their hair appears healthier, while 90% noticed their hair appears smoother after applying Ouai's Hair Gloss, the survey found.
The fragrance of the new product, meanwhile, is a fusion of rich florals and sheer white musk, inspired by Ouai's North Bondi scent, reminiscent of Sydney's popular tourist destination, Bondi Beach.
As per Ouai's guidelines on how to use the product, the first step is to clean the hair with a shampoo and remove excess water before dividing the hair into two-inch sections and applying a pea-sized amount of Hair Gloss into each section from mid-length to ends. After application, comb through the locks and let it sit for five minutes before rinsing.
Ouai said its Hair Gloss can replace conditioner but advised using a leave-in conditioner for hair that requires more detangling or hydration.
For best results, the guidelines recommend styling hair with heat.
Priced at $34 per 177-millileter bottle, the Ouai Hair Gloss is now available for purchase on the company's website and Sephora's online shopping site.
Ouai was founded by celebrity hairstylist, beauty columnist, and entrepreneur Jen Atkin in 2015, along with Dubai-based physician and Shiffa founder Dr. Lamees Hamdan.
Since then, the brand has launched a wide range of hair products, including shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, scalp scrub, and hair spray.
