Former Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr drew flak for her wellness musts that go beyond the mainstream.

While most would give a nod to detoxifying seaweed facial masks, cleansing juices, and the acne-fighting keto diet, some wouldn't jump into the bandwagon with Kerr's take on wellness.

But for the expecting mum and already-mother-of-two, she's careful to research what's optimal for her family's health.

With her, the statement "true beauty comes from within" is beyond skin-deep! And as it turns out, there is some science behind her wellness routine.

She Drinks Alkaline Water

Kerr, who studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became a certified health coach, knows the importance of hydrating which shows on her dewy, glowing skin.

But she also considers the fluids that enter her body.

She balances the acidity required for digestion while making sure she's not too acidic.

With that, she bought an alkaline water filter for her home and opts for a water pH level between 7.5 and 7.9.

While extensive research is still a must, alkaline water is said to have anti-aging properties.

She beats wrinkles with crystal healing

The latest on Miranda Care skincare routine includes applying facial oil and moisturizer using rose quartz, which is said to improve skin elasticity and smoothes wrinkles.

Kerr joins other A-listers who reap the benefits of crystal healing. As for the supermodel, she drinks from crystal-infused water bottles, puts them under her pillow when sleeping, and even bathes in them for an energizing effect.

She's Open to Different Forms of Therapy

The model is also open to ancient medical treatments like leech therapy, which other celebrities like Heather Dubrow and Demi Moore have tried.

Kerr shares how the experience was "interesting and the leeches were supposed to help with puffiness."

It is also said that leech secretes special proteins, so therapy can help tighten the skin and brightens it for a youthful glow.

She Gets a Massage Before/After Flights

As a working mum who frequently travels, Kerr turns to Korean massage that is said to help detoxify the body on a deeper, cellular level. It helps prevent chronic illness and promotes circulation.

She Cleans Her Home with Natural Cleaning Products

The 36-year-old model shares what she learned from growing up in a "very health-conscious family."

From her mom, she learned to use eucalyptus oil as natural floor cleaners, mixing them in hot oil to mop the floors with. "It's antibacterial, good for the wood, and smells really nice," remarks Kerr.

The soon-to-be mom of three teaches us to do our research on the effects of exposure to toxins from chemicals in cleaning products. Eco-friendly cleaning products are one way to reduce adverse health effects, including respiratory issues, skin dryness, and cracking of the skin.

She Has a Radiation-Free Beauty Test

Kerr has a habit of placing anti-radiation stickers on the back of her phone and sleeping with no WiFi or electricity in her Malibu home.

Her concerns about EMF waves drew flak on the internet, though, as her husband, Evan Spiegel, is the CEO of Snapchat. Kerr remarks how her husband also thought it was bizarre at first, but said Spiegel now "appreciates" that side of her.

When Spiegel was confronted about his wife's phone radiation paranoia during an interview with Tech Crunch, he stood up for his wife and asked not to "shame his wife" as he believes in supporting one's partner.

As for the facts behind her concerns, there is a growing number of studies that show what EMF does to the body, which includes stress reactions on skin cells. A research professor reveals that mobile phone radiation has "biological effects," albeit only small.

There is further research that shows there are more severe effects of EMF at night. Apparently, exposure to radiation during sleep can lead to poor sleep quality. Can't blame Kerr for being cautious!
