The 2018 Fragrance Foundation Awards celebrated and awarded the people behind the fragrances, and Glossier took home one of the top awards.

The star-studded event, hosted by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt actress Jane Krakowski, paid homage to some of the fragrance industry's longtime creatives and their passion toward bringing quality products to the market. Awarded were 19 fragrances from different categories.

"They bring to life the artistry and passion that makes fragrance so transformative and inspiring," the president of the Fragrance Foundation, Linda G. Levy, said.

The awards night is much like the Oscars of the film industry, so clearly, taking home an award means that one's work in the fragrance industry is truly admirable. It was attended by the industry as well as the fashion's who's who, including Nina Garcia, Elle magazine's editor in chief; Emily Weiss, Glossier CEO; Gotham actor Ben McKenzie; and model Chanel Iman, among many others.

Glossier You

What was touted as the Most Popular among all the fragrances in the market is Glossier's Glossier You. Being announced as Fragrance of the Year by the Fragrance Foundation Awards, Weiss took to her social media to share the wonderful news that their perfume is being recognized.

"WE WON! Last night, Glossier You, our first fragrance, won a FIFI (the Oscars of smell goods) for Fragrance of the Year!" Weiss wrote.

Furthermore, Weiss expressed her gratitude to the team who came up with the brand's first perfume, as well as the people "who now call You their signature scent." For those still unaware of the scent, it's not like others that aim to mask one's smell by providing a too strong one.

It's not like others as well which have the same smell on different people. It is dubbed as a "skin enhancer," or something that would celebrate a person's natural smell. Bustle conducted a survey among people who have tried Glossier You when it was freshly released in October, and the answers were mostly varying but seemed to have a theme.

The outfit's West Coast fashion and beauty editor Sara Tan described the scent as non-overwhelming, "really familiar and kind of nostalgic." Photographer Aileen Orticio found Glossier You as comforting, while social media coordinator Mollie Maxon explained it is how one wants to "natural[y] smell."

Other Fragrance of the Year awardee are Tom Ford Fabulous for Women's Luxury, Gucci Bloom for Women's Prestige, Tom Ford Oud Minerale for Men's Luxury, and Y By YSL for Men's Prestige. Olivier Cresp, Firmenich master perfumer, took home the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Perfumer Award, while Frederic Malle the Game Changer Award.
