Kristen Stewart's latest look is currently the talk of the town. The 26-year-old year actress, who stunned everyone this Tuesday with a drastic new haircut when she walked the red carpet wearing a platinum blonde buzz cut, revealed the story behind her current appearance.

According to the Today, the "Twilight" star appeared on the "Today Show" where she chatted with the hosts Savannah Guthrie and Willie Geist about her new look. Even though it is for her upcoming movie titled "Underwater", Stewart explained she wanted to do it anyway. "It's practical," the star said on the show stating that it would be easier for her to manage when the shooting begins, in which she will play a mechanical engineer working on an oil rig at the bottom of the ocean floor.

"I am not going to be able to have touch ups once I have the helmet on, so I must shave my head," she said. To which the co-hosts were surprised to know that she herself volunteered to do it. As reported by the US Magazine, shaved head wasn't required for the role, but William Eubank, the director of the film, suggested that the American actress and model should try out an edgy style. Stewart happily obliged her boss.

It may be for the sake of the movie, however, she also said she wanted to do it for a very long time, just for the novel sake. "At some point in your life, you just want to do that." said the star while rubbing her shaved head. Although it's only been a couple of days, Stewart admitted that she doesn't regret her decision to go buzz head, reports EOnline.

It would be very interesting to see her appear in the movie with this look, but fans shouldn't hope to see her like this for long. She sure is like a chameleon when it comes to her hairs.
