Zayn Malik showed up, with a shaved head and a pierced nose, at the 5th Annual Asian Awards in London, Friday.

The 22-year-old singer sported a pair of black boots, navy blue suit, white shirt and a black tie.

Malik's date at the event was his mom, Trisha Malik, who wore a beaded black dress matched with a silver bracelet and a clutch bag.

The event was the British singer's first official appearance after leaving the famous boy band, One Direction, according to People.

The last time Malik walked a red carpet was during the 16th NRJ Music Awards in Dec. 13, with Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Harry Styles. However, Louis Tomlinson was not seen on the event, E!  News reported.

Meanwhile, rumors of Malik releasing a solo album soon have circulated because he was spotted in a studio with UK producer, Naughty Boy.

The 30-year-old record producer, who was also present at the awards night on Friday, reportedly shared a clip of a song that he and Malik had worked on.

"It's important fans know this isn't a solo Zayn song or even representative of material he might record in the future," an insider exclusively told Daily Mail.

"If you listen to the track it is clearly a song written with One Direction in mind for their last album. It's not new, nor is it a Zayn Malik solo track," the insider added.

A representative for Naughty Boy confirmed that the producer and Malik wrote the song "I Won't Mind" as a contender for last year's album of 1D.

"They aren't furiously working on his solo material or anything, there aren't plans for anything and this wasn't recorded in the last few days," one source explained.

"They are very good friends and Zayn is taking time out including visiting Naughty Boy at his studio and hanging out," the source added.

Malik auditioned for "The X Factor" in 2010. He was grouped with Styles, Horan, Payne and Tomlinson, after he got eliminated, and they were since called One Direction.

Malik left the band early this March.
