Aaron Paul has reportedly been tapped to be a part of a "Star Wars" spin-off that will focus on Han Solo, ACE Showbiz reported.

The said spin off has been given the codename "Luminac Industrial Goods" but LucasFilm has not confirmed the news, according to "Making Star Wars" blog.

The new film will reportedly overlap the production of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The project will be directed by "Godzilla" director Gareth Edwards and will be released on Dec. 16, 2016.

Although the site added that Paul has not been confirmed to play Han Solo, fans likened the actor to Harrison Ford who played the part originally, MTV reported.

Interestingly, Paul played Luke Skywalker in a one-night-only live reading for "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back." The event, which was held Dec. 20, triggered speculation that it was a preparation for the spin-off, Consequence of Sound reported.

In terms of acting skills, Paul has proven his talent in the series "Breaking Bad." Earlier this year, Paul won "Best Supporting Actor" for his role as drug dealer Jesse Pinkman.

Director Jason Reitman has revealed the challenges of casting the perfect Han Solo, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"The Han Solo character is fascinating in that the approach to every other character in "Star Wars" is earnest and kind of sweet and old-fashioned. The heroes are heroes, and the villains are villains. And within this world, we're introduced to one human being who looks at it all with irony. He's the guy who doesn't give a crap," Reitamn said.

Han Solo is a human smuggler who makes the "Star Wars" franchise relatable for the audience, Cinema Blend reported.

Meanwhile, loyal fans of the franchise can watch their favorite character Han Solo played by Harrison Ford in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on Dec. 18, 2015.
