"American Idol" season 11 winner Phillip Phillips is officially off the market following his engagement to girlfriend Hannah Blackwell, E! News reported.

Phillips announced the good news through his official Facebook and Twitter accounts on Saturday. The singer posted a photo of himself and Blackwell with the latter showing off her new engagement ring, which looked to be a solitaire diamond set on a gold band.

Phillips captioned the snap, "My best Christmas surprise is happening. We're engaged yall!"

Blackwell also posted about the engagement on her Instagram, showing off her ring alongside a picture of herself on a Christmas ornament in 1995. She wrote, "I've been dreaming of this for over 20 years. I've been dreaming of this guy for just that long. Overwhelmed with happiness."

The Georgia natives have been dating since they were 18, long before Phillips even auditioned and competed on "American Idol." The couple met in 2009 when they were both volunteers at a women and children's shelter.

After the show, Phillips has been vocal about his relationship with Blackwell, talking about her during an interview with Ryan Seacrest, according to US Weekly.

He talked about how Blackwell was supportive and excited about his Idol journey, and even hoped she would be able to join him while he was on tour.

"She's supported me so much. Love her, love her to death," he said.

Phillips also talked about Blackwell during an interview for Elle magazine in November, saying his lady love "is a lot smarter than me." He stated that when Blackwell joined him for his tours, she handled some of the business aspects that came with it.

"She's smarter than me and likes to read so she goes over things I look past," he said.

Phillips released his second album "Behind the Light" in May and toured this summer with O.A.R. His single "Gone, Gone, Gone" was also used for the 12th season of "American Idol" as the send-off song for the show's eliminated contestants.
