Actress Rosamund Pike has welcomed her second child with partner, mathematician Robie Uniacke, according to E! News.

The "Gone Girl" star gave birth at home to a boy on Dec. 2. Pike and her partner have yet to announce the name of their new bundle of joy. They are already parents to 2-year-old son Solo.

Pike first revealed her pregnancy in June, according to Us.

Speaking to Glamour in 2012, Pike opened up about being a working mom.

"The question Is really why do so many women's careers take off just as they have children?" she told the magazine at the time. "Is it because you are risking everything in your relationship and the risk-taker in you carries through in your professional life? You have less time to worry and overanalyze - maybe that's it."

She also revealed how having a child has contributed to her career.

"With children you spend so much time re-experiencing the world as a child experiences it, and that has a nourishing effect on your imagination - in my job, imagination is key," she explained.

Shortly after she gave birth to her first child, Pike opened up about being more comfortable with not marrying her partner, according to Daily Mail.

"You try to do the right thing and the conventional thing, and it doesn't work, and then you're free again," Pike told Vogue at the time, referencing her engagement to former flame, director Joe Wright.

"It is interesting to break all the rules," she added. "I'm not married, I have a baby, and it feels infinitely more right."

The good news for Pike doesn't stop at her little boy, however, as she is set to be honored with the Breakthrough Performance Award at the 2015 Palm Springs Film Festival. She has also been nominated for Best Actress at the Satellite Award.
