Melissa McCarthy's long-promised clothing line is finally in the works, and she's teaming up with Sunrise Brands (owner of Seven7), American Rag and Superdry to make this lifelong passion and dream a reality.

The 44-year-old comedienne-actress sat down with Women's Wear Daily this week and shared all the details on her fashion line for plus-size customers.

"We felt they were committed to changing the plus-size game," she said of her aforesaid partners.

McCarthy gushed that she is designing the clothes with the help of a creative director and that a label name is still being finalised as of late.

One thing she promised everyone right off the bat that the designs are going to be "more modern" than what's out there in the market for plus-size customers.

The "Tammy" star, who rose to fame for her role as Sookie St. James on the successful series "Gilmore Girls," also dished that her clothing line won't be strictly for the plus-size buyers, according to Jezebel.

"I'm doing all sizes. It's a strange thing to stop at a certain size. Women don't, so why should clothes?" she said.

"[I've been] eery size on the plant. I have experience dressing me as a 6, a 12 and more. And when you go above a size 12, you don't lose your love of fashion," she added.

The Emmy-winning actress explained that her desire to launch her own clothing line came to be after she realised that the fashion industry wasn't catering to her needs as a customer.

She once revealed that when she got nominated for an Oscar, she really struggled to look for a dress to wear on the red carpet.

"Two Oscars ago, I couldn't find anybody to dress me," she told Redbook in July. "I asked five or six designers and they all said no."

The "Mike & Molly" star's upcoming line, which is focused more on casual sportswear, is set to be launched in the fall of 2015, reports Fox News.

"I loved the playfulness of fashion. I think maybe that's why I became an actress," she told WWD. "You put on one outfit and feel one way, and another one will make you feel another way. Clothes are a wonderful tool."
