Singer Rihanna has teased fans with a snippet from a song in her upcoming eighth album via Instagram, Entertainment Tonight says.

The singer has been mum about the status of her latest studio effort but assured fans that it is on its way by posting a snippet of a song on her Instagram, in which she is heard singing the lyrics, "None of this s**t promise, none of this promise."

Before posting the preview on the social media account she recently returned to after a six-month hiatus, the "Stay" singer tweeted that "ANY news about #R8 will be delivered directly from me!!!"

The tweet came after DJ Skee announced that the Barbadian singer's new record will be released early next year, according to Just Jared.

Rihanna's brother Rajad also appears to be hinting at the album's release by posting a countdown on his Twitter, according to Music Times, but is pointing to a date earlier than what Skee claimed.

Rajad, who goes by the username @RJFenty15, started a countdown to Black Friday, November 28, leading fans to assume it involves a big announcement.

Rumors about Rihanna's new album started swirling when an alleged tracklist for it showed up online. A screenshot of what appears to be a memo about the release of the singer's alleged new album "Lost Files" started circulating online via a site called SpyGhana.

The alleged memo said the album was slated for a November 24 release. It also contained a tracklist, which named Kanye West, DJ Mustard, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Drake and Eminem as the singer's collaborators in different tracks.

While Rihanna continues to speak scantly about her new studio album, her collaborator DJ David Guetta has been generous enough to confirm that there will also be a "soundtrack" album coming from the "S and M" singer. The soundtrack will be for the animated film "Home," which is slated for a March 2015 screening.

"She's doing a film and the music is for the soundtrack to that film," Guetta said in an interview with the Daily Star. "It's quite different."
