Harry Styles denied sending ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift 1,989 roses in celebration of the pop singer's recent hit album "1989" during an interview on Friday, Daily Mail reported.

Styles and Swift dated briefly from October 2012 to January 2013 being splitting ways, and the One Direction crooner spoke out against the rumors about the roses on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Friday.

"I know about the rumor. I don't know anything about the roses," he told Degeneres. "I think it might have been someone else and I may have falsely, apparently, I get credit for it."

"You get credit for being romantic like that," Degeneres said.

Prior to the appearance on Degeneres' show, Styles and Swift were seen together Wednesday night attending a  concert by The 1975 at the Palladium in Los Angeles, according to Entertainment Tonight.

"I was on the floor and I saw them in what I believe was a VIP section. They were both dressed in black and they were very friendly towards each other," an eyewitness said to Entertainment Tonight, and also mentioned that the pair went backstage at one point that night.

"To me they seemed like friends. I'd say somewhere in between," the eyewitness added.

An insider also said that after their split, the ex-couple are now on friendly terms, according to US Weekly.

"They have become pals," the insider said.

Another insider also spoke to US Weekly and said, "Taylor has been bragging to her trainer and celeb friends that she and Harry are talking again."

Swift released her fifth studio album, "1989," which hit number one in the Billboard charts. Styles and One Direction recently released their fourth studio album, "Four," and are doing their promotional rounds in the United States.

Both musical acts are set to appear at the American Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles this Sunday.
