Dr. Karlinksy, what types of procedures or injections should women avoid?

At this time, there is nothing other than a patient's own fat that can be injected into the buttocks.  Patients must do their due diligence, and make sure that the doctor they go to see for their procedure is well trained and experienced in performing the operation they are seeking.

There should be no silicone or any other chemicals injected into one's body. A well trained and legitimate doctor will never offer anything of that sort to the patient.  There should be a big red flag going up in the mind of a patient if someone offers him or her anything other than fat grafting or solid silicone implants.

What about these procedures are dangerous?

Like any surgery, cosmetic enhancement of the buttocks with silicone implants or fat, carries potential risks and complications.  These can be very minor complications like small wound separations, prolonged bruising or swelling to major complications which may include implant infection, extrusion, adverse reaction to anesthesia, deep venous thrombosis, pneumonia and so on.

Statistically, fat grafting to the buttocks carries a muck lower risk for potential complications then solid silicone implants.

What is the price and recovery time for something like this?

The price for fat grafting may vary from $8K to $15K
