Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes finds herself in the center of another controversy after a controversial recording was recently leaked online.

In the recording, the actress was heard expressing her desire to kill her parents, according to People.

"If your father was my father, then you would understand why you'd want to slit his wrists. I haven't decided how I want to murder him. I don't believe in murder. He literally like is the worst person. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than like slitting his throat. That is what I would love to do," Bynes said in the recording leaked by TMZ.

Bynes clarified in the controversial recording that she doesn't really have plans of murdering her parents, specifically her dad, but stressed that she would call her mom and threaten to kill her.

"So like I'm not gonna like ever do such a thing, but like I call my mom and like I threaten to kill her, and I threaten to slit her wrist, and I threaten to like burn her house and like I said a bunch of sh*t like that," the former child star added.

On Saturday, Bynes, 28, explained that she was merely joking about hurting and killing her parents, US Weekly reported.

"By the way, I was obviously joking about hurting my family. I straight up don't believe in harming a soul. I said what I said in jest & if you don't understand that then know I'm in therapy to talk about my dad issues and that will solve my concerns with ppl invading my private life," the actress tweeted.

In another tweet, Bynes suggested that people shouldn't take all of her jokes seriously and wrote, "I am one of the most thoughtful girls you'll ever meet so don't read into what I joke about. That is a joke that ppl say and there is no reason why I can't joke about it as well."
