Daryl and Carol last saw each other in the third episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 4, titled "Isolation" - the same episode that most of the characters discovered the burnt corpses of Karen and David. Later in the episode, Daryl together with Michonne, Bob and Tyreese went for a supply run. In the following episode, Rick- without the consent of others - banished Carol from the group after she confessed that she was the one who killed Karen and David.

When the first trailer for Season 5 was released last July at San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Daryl and Carol were reunited at some point in the upcoming season of the show. And aside from Daryl and Carol shippers, Norman Reedus, the actor who plays the crossbow-wielding character, also seems happy that the two characters were in the same group again.

Asked by Entertainment Weekly what it is like for Daryl to be reunited with Carol, the 45-year-old actor replied: "There's a certain familiarity with those two characters and there's a certain yin-and-yang element to them, [laughs] which flip-flops every 5 minutes. Sort of like me and Melissa, to be honest."

"I mean, I love Melissa, she's fun to work with. And at the same time we'll scream at each other - I mean, as soon as the camera stops rolling, we'll start yelling at each other, and then we'll be back to normal like in two seconds," he explained. "It's a very tight bond those two have. There's a mutual respect for each other."

"Carol's a different person now," said Reedus, who is also known for his portrayal of Murphy MacManus in the 1999 film "The Boondock Saints" and its 2009 sequel "The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day." "Daryl sort of leaned on Carol at times and I think Carol sort of leans on Daryl at times. A very interesting partnership right there."

Melissa McBride, who plays Carol on the series, recently acknowledged the chemistry between the two characters.

"There's obviously some kind of chemistry between those two characters," the 49-year-old actress told Comicbook.com. "And part of that is that they have a lot in common as far as where they come from and the struggles that they've each experienced and tried to overcome and continue to in that post-apocalyptic world and they support one another because they understand that in one another."

"It's like, let's see how many steps forward we can get and if one goes backwards, one's there to pull them forward again. Keep an eye out for each other in that way," she added about the duo's relationship.

Some viewers, however, are pairing Daryl with Beth (Emily Kinney). But Reedus does not have to choose between his character's two potential love interests. He loves both female characters so much that he wants a threesome between them.

"I'm hoping for a threesome this season," Reedus jokingly said at the San Diego Comic-Con last July, according to Variety. "Me and Beth and Carol - the trifecta!"

"The Walking Dead" Season 5 premieres on Oct. 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET on AMC.
