Maisie Williams has landed a new role!

The 17-year-old actress, best known for her portrayal of Arya Stark in the hit HBO fantasy drama series "Game of Thrones," was cast to star in "Cyber Bully," a new real-time thriller commissioned by U.K. broadcaster Channel 4. The news was announced Thursday, Sept. 18, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by Ben Chanan, "Cyber Bully" is based on dozens of real-life cases of young people who have been victims of online bullying, including those who have suffered advanced computer hacking, The Independent reported.

It will have the same format as Steven Knight's 2013 British drama film "Locke," only taking place in one single location.

Williams will play Casey Jacobs, a teenage girl threatened by an anonymous internet stalker.

"It is one of the most important purposes of Channel 4 to find new ways of engaging young audiences with the cyber world and the stories that play out on the internet," Channel 4's head of documentaries Nick Mirsky said in a statement. "This film does exactly that in a way that is gripping, relevant and fiercely public service."

As for Williams' casting, BAFTA award-winning director Chanan said: "The audience will be trapped with Casey for a full screen hour and we need an exceptional actress to play her. I couldn't imagine anyone else in the role. Maisie Williams is not only remarkably talented, she also has an immediately likeable, feisty screen presence which makes you root for her instinctively."

Since her first appearance in "Game of Thrones" back in 2011, at the age of only 14, Williams has greatly impressed viewers with her great portrayal of Arya. In fact, the Bristol, England-born actress won the Portal Award for Best Supporting Actress (Television) and Best Young Actor in 2012 and the BBC Radio 1 Teen Award for Best British Actor in 2013, UnrealityTV reported.

She has also received nominations for the Scream Award for Best Ensemble in 2011, and the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series (Supporting Young Actress) in 2013 for her performance as Arya.

"Cyber Bully" is due to air next year.
