The Warner Bros film "The Nice Guys" starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe is set to be released on June 17, 2016, Deadline has learned.

Directed by "Iron Man 3" director Shane Black, "The Nice Guys" will be executive produced by Hal Sadoff and Michael Malone and its screenplay was written by Black with Anthony Bagarozzi.

Set in Los Angeles in the 1970s, the story of "Nice Guys" revolves around the conspiracy uncovered by a private detective played by Gosling and a hired violent thug played by Crowe who work together to solve the case of a missing girl and a porn star's death, which were seemingly unrelated.

"The Nice Guys" also reunites Black with "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" and "Lethal Weapon" producer Joel Silver who is producing via Silver Pictures with Ken Kao of Waypoint Entertainment, the co-financer of the movie.

Two animated family films "How To Train Your Dragon 3" and "Finding Dory" will also hit theaters on the release date of "The Nice Guys," according to Hollywood Reporter.

Other cast members to be joining Gosling and Crowe in "The Nice Guys" are yet to be announced.

Picked up by Warner Bros in July, the detective thriller is about to start production.

Meanwhile, upon the announcement of the gender of Gosling and Eva Mendes' baby, rumors about the couple's breakup died down.

While Gosling and Mendes are both mum about the breakup rumors and Mendes' pregnancy, it was confirmed that their first child is a boy and is due on September, a source told OK! Magazine, as cited by Christian Post.

As they have been referring to their son as a "little monkey," Gosling and Mendes have decided on a monkey theme, according to the source.

The source also said that Gosling and Mendes are already putting together the baby's nursery having chosen blue accents for the room with walls that have a neutral color while several assistants are coming into their house carrying blue linens and toys.
