Miley Cyrus recently threw shade at Ed Sheeran at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards.

The "One" singer was called to the stage to accept the award for Best Male Video for his song "Sing."

On his way to the stage, Sheeran, who was seated on the same row as Cyrus, was cheered and applauded by everyone who celebrated his success - but not the "Wrecking Ball" singer, according to US Weekly.

Sheeran shook hands and high fived everyone on the same row, except for Cyrus, who looked at him with a blank face.

Unfortunately, the cameras were able to capture the "We Can't Stop" singer's bitter words when she called Sheeran an a-hole, MTV News reported.

Meanwhile, Sheeran himself was never really a fan of Cyrus, especially her twerking moves and her fondness for always being naked.

Last year, the "Tenerife Sea" crooner slammed Cyrus during an interview with The Mirror, where he expressed his disapproval of the singer's crazy antics.

"It's a stripper's move. If I had a daughter of mine, I wouldn't want her twerking. When I first heard 'Wrecking Ball,' I thought it was a brilliant song. But the video distracts too much from it," he said.

Meanwhile, despite her recent diss, Cyrus still won Video of the Year for her hit 2013 single "Wrecking Ball."

Unfortunately, this year's show failed to make it to international headlines unlike last year, when Cyrus surprised everyone with a rock out performance of "Blurred Lines" with Robin Thicke, the NY Daily News noted.

At that time, Cyrus surprised fans with her twerking moves - but not everyone liked it. Still, the young singer became the talk of the town and became the most talked about artist for a couple of months.

As of late, Cyrus and Sheeran have not yet reacted regarding the issue.
