It looks like Jennette McCurdy has decided to subtlety throw some shade at her former "Sam and Cat" costar Ariana grande on her new web series, "What's Next For Sarah."

In the show she plays the lead character, Sarah. The role will mimic the blonde beauty's own career path, portraying an actress who came to fame by acting in a television show and is now struggling to figure what she wants to do next.

According to Entertainment Wise, the former Nickelodeon star chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about her new series. Jennette McCurdy explained, "I wanted What's Next for Sarah to be a light-hearted call-out to some of the more absurd experiences I've faced growing up in the entertainment industry.

"My goal was to exaggerate some of the more classic Hollywood archetypes - the phony reporter, the insincere agent, the duplicitous casting director - and heighten them to a surreal extent that we can all laugh at.

"We all have those moments where we feel like the world is entirely crazy, and we're the only sane person."

However, one person who mimics reality is a character, who looks exactly like Ariana Grande and is coincidently named, Gloriana. In the show the girl comes off as ditsy and fake which just fuels feud rumors between the two actresses.

McCurdy revealed, "I saw What's Next for Sarah as a creative opportunity for me to try my hand at more behind-the-scenes aspects of entertainment and learn more about the production process as a whole."

The 22-year-old former "iCarly" star used act alongside the "Problem" songstress before their show was cancelled in July. Following the release of "What's Next For Sarah," there was plenty of speculation that the fictional character Gloriana was based on the real, Ariana Grande or at least McCurdy's depiction of her.

The producer for the series, Jesse Bloch seemed to all but confirm that Gloriana could very well be Ariana. He explained that some of the characters in the show are based off of real people.

Bloch said, "Some are quite truthful and others completely exaggerated, but they're all meant to show the absurd moments of living in the spotlight of the entertainment industry that one goes through from time to time."

However, Jennette McCurdy did not confirm the drama and subtle diss. Instead she took to her Twitter account to silence people who had something to say about the Gloriana character on her new series.

She tweeted, "god all this fodder about shade. If you're so worried about shade, get off your computer & go outside. Plenty of sun. #whatsnextforsarah."
