Throwback Thursday: Classic Beauty, Tina Turner

Close

This week we honor classic beauty, Tina Turner.

Considered to be the queen of rock n roll, Turner has had a music career that has spanned over fifty years! Her hits are numerous and have earned her a total of eight Grammy Awards, sold out concerts, and with over 100 million copies of her albums sold, she is also in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Now in her seventies and newly married, Turner's beauty continues to captivate the public. Famous for her signature look from the eighties, this rock legend keeps her beauty regimen for the stage simple and timeless. A beautiful, bold red lip and smoky eye are all Turner ever needs.

So with her beauty regime pretty basic, many wonder what Turner's secret is to defying her 74 years to stay looking young, vibrant and ageless. For this beauty, it's all about her diet.

To stay in tiptop shape, Turner reportedly doesn't eat anything after 6pm. Her carb intake is kept to only twice a week, she sticks to saunas, steam rooms, and "walking 10 miles up and down stairs at home."

"I don't abuse myself with sweets, sugars, cakes and fat. I eat healthily. The pleasure of life is dinner," she said in an interview. "I eat a breakfast of banana, kiwi and melon, and brown German bread."

But we mustn't forget that Turner's body is also from years of performing as well. "The main reason I've stayed looking good is that I've spent 40 years doing the most intensive stage workouts ever," the star reminded us all.

Want to look as good as Turner? Well the legend herself says it all starts in your head. "Women should be proud of who they are at any stage in their lives," Turner said.

"If you look good and can still do it, then do it. My attitude is not one of a 69-year-old woman."
