It looks like Emma Watson has made headlines once again but this time it isn't for a good reason. Apparently Matt Janney's girlfriend has been flagged by Immigration officials after claims that her American housekeeper has worked for her illegally in the UK.

According to The Mirror, the woman had was allegedly employed by the "Harry Potter" star and worked in her more than $2.5 million London home while she was on a tourist visa which actually forbids foreigners from working in the UK.

A source claimed the American maid was stopped by UK immigration staff who questioned her about how she could fund her visit to remain overseas.

As a result of her illegal actions, Home Office chiefs can impose civil penalties of just under $14,000 or £10,000 per worker on bosses who breach immigration rules.

The woman first started working for 24-year-old Emma Watson in New York City maintaining her apartment at the beginning of last year.

However, the Border Agency staff has since launched a probe after receiving a complaint that the worker has travelled to London off and on and was paid to help the actress at her Islington home.

It is alleged the housekeeper has spent a total of three months in Britain between September last year until early February of this year.

During one of the woman's trips to London a source claimed that the immigration staff quizzed her about her ability to pay for her stay and that is when the investigation began.

Although the Home Office said it cannot comment on individual cases, a source at the department said, "An allegation has been received and processed and has been allocated for further action."

The housekeeper's UK employment came to an end at the beginning of February and she has since returned to America.

The only way that prosecution or civil penalties can be avoided in this case is if the employer i.e. Emma Watson, produces copies of documents that prove they did everything possible to ascertain the immigration status of her employee.

Since the news broke neither the "Noah" actress, her spokesman nor lawyer has commented on the matter.
